Sculpture in the garden

24. Instalation at the exhibition SCULPTURE IN THE GARDEN, 1988, SARP (Polish Architects' Association) garden, Warsaw I go around a dead tree. [...] Why did they keep it? Those huge hollows, have they been made by missiles? The dead tree projects the obviousness of the end. Leafless, dramatic. It is simply tasteless. That tree had lived longer than the oldest people, maybe over one hundred fifty years. But trees are only episodes in relation to the long life of stones. Granite stones are older than the glacier that brought them. And even they are episodes in relation to the long life of water, which circles in space in three forms from the first day of creation.
